About RFY

Research4Youth (RFY) is a platform to equip secondary school students with essential research skills, and to turn their ideas or school projects into publishable research paper.

RFY believes that research should not stop with publications or reports, but should lead to real, tangible, and positive changes in the world. We encourage young researchers to dream, think, and turn their ideas and ambitions into actions. Through authentic, real-world research projects, students learn not only how to conduct research, but also how to use it to make an impact on the world and society.

A message from our founder Dr. Ella Cao

Hi, I'm Ella, a researcher and educator based in Penang, Malaysia, with a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction. I have published research in both Scopus- and SSCI-indexed journals and also serve as reviewer for several SSCI journals.

Over the past few years, I have mentored postgraduate students in academic writing and research. Through this experience, I realized that many students struggled not because of a lack of ability, but because they had never received systematic research training. This led me to a simple question: What if they could develop these skills much earlier?

I believe research is more than writing papers, it is a way of thinking, questioning, and solving real-world problems. Rather than waiting until university, I believe these skills should be nurtured during secondary school. That belief inspired me to establish Research4youth (RFY), a platform where our youth can develop essential research skills through personalized 1-on-1 mentorship and authentic research projects.

I hope RFY will inspire our younger generation to explore their ideas, contribute to society, and become tomorrow's innovators.
